Youth at Work in Mentese Projesi
"Youth at Work in Menteşe" prepared under the coordination of Muğla Sıtkı Koçman University and in partnership with Muğla Metropolitan Municipality, Menteşe Municipality and Muğla Chamber of Commerce and Industry. Our project has been entitled to be supported with a budget of 367.370.59 Euro. The contract of our project was signed on 05.05.2023 and our project officially started on 01.08.2023. Our project, which is planned to last 12 months, will end on 31.07.2024.
This project is designed to improve the qualifications of NEETs aged 15-29 in Muğla and increase their employability in food and beverage enterprises. The project has three general objectives:
- Reaching NEETs in Menteşe:,
- To qualify and enhance the employability of NEETs according to the identified needs of the local labour market; and
- Developing effective cooperation between NEETs and İŞKUR.
Target groups of our project
- In line with these objectives, NEETs consisting of 80 people living in Muğla will be identified. The qualifications of NEETs will be increased by providing vocational and personal trainings to NEETs, who are also identified according to the needs of the local labour market by coming together with sector representatives, and this contributes to the employment problem of the active labour market.Education Period:

Training Location: Menteşe and Fethiye
Education Period: December-March (40 days of technical training, 40 days of basic skills and personal development training, a total of 80 days of training will be provided. Along with the trainings, internship opportunities will be offered in contracted enterprises in related fields).
At the end of the 80-day training, NEETs will be provided with an allowance of 10 Euro per day (except for force majeure), provided that they attend all the trainings.
Vocational Qualification certification exam fee in the relevant field trained within the scope of the project will be covered from the project budget for one time. (With 1 exam fee payment, there is the right to take the exam 2 times in the same year).
Among the NEETs who participated in the training, 15 selected NEETs will go to Gaziantep and 2 NEETs will go to Spain for a technical trip to observe good practice examples.

3.Initial activities with food and beverage establishments
3.1.Visits to sectoral organisations, boards, chambers, etc. to introduce the project and get their opinions,
3.2.Visiting food and beverage establishments, introducing the project and obtaining their opinions,
3.3.Receiving opinions and feedbacks of participant (partner) enterprises through single and group meetings,
3.4.Providing detailed information to the participating (partner) enterprises about the project, taking their opinions on the process, organising meetings to increase participation and inclusiveness,
4. Trainings and certification to improve the competences of NEETs
4.1.Finalisation of training modules,
4.2.Informing NEETs about education details,
4.3.80 NEETs from the professions of Cookery, Barista, Pastry, Chef Waiter, Waiter (Service Person) and Bartending
the provision of vocational qualification training (including a certificate of vocational qualification),
4.4.80 Providing general skills trainings for NEETs (communication skills, basic computer use, digital marketing, career management, basic English, vocational English, pre-accounting, service techniques, occupational safety, sanitary qualifications, gender equality, etc.-Courses in modules differ according to the characteristics of NEETs.)
4.5.80 Providing soft skills trainings for NEETs (Motivation, Stress management, time management, intergenerational conflict management leadership and team management etc. -Courses in modules may differ according to the characteristics of NEETs)
4.6. 80 Providing entrepreneurship training for NEETs,
4.7.Certification of successfully completed trainings of NEETs,
5.Internships for capacity building of NEETs
5.1.Meetings with participating (partner) companies and finalisation of internship details,
5.2.Internship
5.3.Workplace visits during internship training,
5.4.Evaluation of the internship training by interviewing NEETs (during and after the training),
5.5.Evaluation of internship trainings by interviewing with food and beverage enterprises (during and after the training),
6.Providing information about İŞKUR services, supporting NEETs and their job search processes by preparing individual action plans
6.1.Informing NEETs about İŞKUR services,
6.2.Providing one-to-one counselling services to NEETs in cooperation with İŞKUR,
6.3.Making individual action plans for NEETs,
6.4.Ensuring participation of NEETs in career days and employment fairs,
6.5.Encouraging active participation of NEETs in İŞKUR's Job Clubs,
6.6.Continuously checking the progress of NEETs, reorganising it when necessary, taking into account the individual career plan,
6.7.Providing financial support to NEETs in their job search process,
6.8.Providing mobility support for NEETs in the process of job placement when necessary,
7.Activities to increase the visibility and widespread impact of the local cooperation of the project
7.1.Meeting of project partners and sharing of information,
7.2.Increasing local cooperation and inclusiveness through workshops, seminars, conferences,
7.3.Creating resources for the transfer of knowledge and "know-how" experience by visiting good practices,
7.4.Ensuring the dissemination of the knowledge and experience gained in the project by sharing them in sectoral and scientific meetings,
7.5.Organising information seminars and meetings to raise awareness about NEETs in general and the project in particular to relevant educational institutions and registering unemployed graduates with İŞKUR,
7.6.Organisation of information seminars and meetings to raise awareness and sensitivity among relevant private enterprises and public institutions and organisations about NEETs in general and the project in particular,
8.Monitoring, auditing and reporting activities
8.1.Organising the monitoring team meeting
8.2.Organisation of monthly meetings of the monitoring team to check and evaluate the ongoing process,
8.3.Visiting NEETs during trainings, including on-the-job trainings in food and beverage establishments,
8.4.Informing the project board of directors by the monitoring team every three months,
8.5.Completion of the external audit of the project,
8.6.Brief reporting (executive summary) of each event, including information seminars, stakeholder meetings, etc. in the same month
8.7.Analysing the data collected within the scope of the project,
